ADDICTION
No one wants to be a drug addict or alcoholic, but this does not stop people from becoming addicted.
Here is a questionnaire that if you answer honestly can help you decide if you have addiction issues. (*for sexual addiction simply exchange the terms)
Do you ever drink heavily when you are disappointed, under pressure or have had a quarrel with someone?
Can you handle more alcohol/drugs now than when you first started to use?
Have you been unable to remember part of the previous night when your friends said you didn't pass out?
When drugs or alcohol is not around are you uncomfortable?
At the end of the day are you anxious to get home or to the bar to get your first drink/use of the day?
Do you feel guilty about your drinking or using?
Has someone close to you a family member or friend said something to you about your drinking or using?
Do you usually have a reason for drinking heavily?
When you're not drinking do you have regrets for your behavior while you were using?

Have you tried to stop but can't?
Have you missed work because of using?
Have you failed to keep promises because of your use?
Do you ever feel depressed or anxious during or after drinking/using?
Any “yes” answer to these questions indicate that you may be at greater risk for addiction. More than one “yes” answer may indicate the presence an addiction problem. 1
